This policy explains what Venus & Mars Corporation Pty. Ltd., trading as 1800 Cabins, does with personal information collected through our website, our advertising on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Google and YouTube, and our enquiry and messaging systems. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Why we collect it

Marketing messages

When you send us an enquiry we may send you an automatic text or email acknowledging it and telling you what happens next. That message is part of answering your enquiry. Any message we send that is genuinely marketing will identify us and will tell you how to stop receiving them, and you can stop them at any time by replying STOP to a text or by contacting us at info@1800cabins.au.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We use the following service providers, who handle information only to provide their service to us.

ProviderWhat they handle
RailwayHosting for this system and the database it stores enquiries in
TwilioSending and receiving our text messages
BackblazeEncrypted off site backups of our database
Meta, Google and TikTokWhere our advertising runs. When you complete a lead form on one of their platforms, they collect your details under their own privacy policy and pass them to us

Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure they handle it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

How we keep it

Enquiries are stored in a private system that only our own staff can sign into, each with their own account. Access to advertising platforms is held as encrypted credentials rather than as shared passwords. Backups are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise, but we do treat a customer enquiry as something that belongs to the customer.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry records for as long as we may reasonably need them for the purposes above, which for an enquiry that does not proceed is generally up to seven years, consistent with the record keeping periods that apply to our business. You can ask us to delete your information sooner, and we will unless we are required to keep it.
